Healthier Twix Bars
Healthier Twix Bars
Ooey-gooey, Twix-like bars, but made with ChiChi. Each layer is as easy as microwave, pour, then freeze!
Ingredients:
For the ChiChi Layer:
- 1/3 cup Original ChiChi
- 1/3 cup water
For the Nut Butter Caramel Layer:
- 1/3 cup nut butter (customize based on flavor preference)
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
For the Chocolate Coating:
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 2 teaspoons coconut oil
Instructions:
-
Prepare the ChiChi Layer:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, mix together 1/3 cup of Original ChiChi and 1/3 cup of water. Microwave for 90 seconds.
- Pour and flatten the mixture into a dish, place it in the freezer to chill while you prepare the next layer.
-
Make the Nut Butter Caramel Layer:
- In another microwave-safe bowl, combine the nut butter, maple syrup, and coconut oil.
- Microwave the mixture in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until the ingredients are fully melted and combined into a smooth caramel-like consistency.
-
Layer:
- Once the ChiChi layer has chilled and firmed up slightly in the freezer (about 10-20 minutes), remove it from the freezer.
- Pour the nut butter caramel mixture evenly over the chilled ChiChi layer.
- Return the dish to the freezer and let it freeze until the caramel layer is firm.
-
Coat with Chocolate:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
- Once the caramel layer has hardened, pour the melted chocolate mixture evenly over the caramel layer, ensuring it covers the entire surface.
- Return the dish to the freezer for one final chill until the chocolate layer is set. Then slice and enjoy!
